Indian River Blanked on the Road

BRADENTON, FL - Indian River falls to 27-9 overall and 17-5 in Citrus Conference play after coming up short against State College of Florida (SCF) on Thursday, April 3.

SCF got on the board in the first inning after a couple of miscues by The River led to a run. The scoring continued for the Manatees as two more runs were walked in during the bottom of the second inning, and another was added with a solo home run in the bottom of the third.

Lucas Glendinning took the loss for Indian River. The righty went four innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out six. Javi Miranda finished the game, striking out a career-high seven batters over four innings.

The offense struggled, as they could not get a run across for the third time this year. Brett Patten led the offense with two hits.

The River will be back at home as they host State College for a doubleheader to finish the series on Saturday, April 5.
