Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team defeated a very talented Palm Beach State Team 90-64 on Tuesday night.
This was the first win for the Pioneers over Palm Beach State in four years. "We did a solid job of executing our game plan tonight and managed to stick to the things we do well", comment IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.
The Pioneers took an early lead 12-4 at the 14:34 mark and never trailed in the contest. IRSC built the lead to 47-28 at the half and increased the lead to 30 points several times in the second half. Anthony Brown had another good night for The River as he scored 20 points and dished out several nice passes.
Other top scorers for IRSC were Kimani Binder with 19 points, Cedric Jackson and Deontae Weaver both with 16. Oliver Ehrnvall had another complete game as he pulled in a game high 14 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. The win moved IRSC's over-all record to 15-5 and 2-0 in the Southern Conference. The next action for IRSC will be January 19th at home when they match up against ASA for a 7 p.m. tip.
