Former IRSC Player Signs Professional Contract
Former Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Player, Shaun Willett, signed a contract last month with Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he participated in their training camp. Recently he signed his second professional contract when he joined with BBC Arantia Larochette (Luxembourg). In his first game playing professionally for Luxembourg's first Division, Shaun scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (12 offensive).
While at IRSC he was named first team All-Conference and National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Week. He averaged 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assist per game during his sophomore season. "Shaun was a very dominate player and had a major impact in every game" stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson. "We are really proud of him and wish him nothing but the best as he begins his professional journey."
After leaving IRSC he transferred to Queens University of Charlotte. Shaun collected numerous awards including: All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, First team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association, Southeast Regional Player of the Year, and MVP of the Southeast Regional Tournament. Willett helped lead Queens University to a 31-5 record, SAC Regular Season Championship and a second Elite Eight appearance. He averaged 19.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game his senior season.
