Bio

Travis "T.J." Jackson was named Head Men's Basketball Coach at Indian River State College in 2024, following a successful season as the program's assistant coach during the 2023–24 campaign. That season, The River recorded 24 wins. After then-Head Coach Bill Morosco accepted a position at NCAA Division II powerhouse Lynn University, Jackson was promoted by The River's Athletic Director Scott Kimmelman to lead the program into a new era.

Coach Jackson brings a versatile coaching background across multiple levels of basketball, including the NJCAA, prep, and USCAA levels. Prior to joining Indian River, he served on the coaching staff at Broward College during the 2019–20 season, one of the most statistically dominant years in program history. Under his guidance, Broward led the NJCAA in several key offensive categories, including:
• 1st in points per game (92.1)
• 1st in field goals made per game (34.5)
• 1st in field goal percentage (54.7%)
• 2nd in free throw percentage (73.2%)
• 5th in three-point percentage (36.0%)

Former Broward College Head Coach and current University of Fort Lauderdale Head Coach Anthony Q. Anderson praised Jackson as "The hardest working coach in the country, a true professional with high character. No doubt in my mind he'll be a great addition for The River."

Coach Jackson has also played a foundational role in launching collegiate basketball programs, having helped establish athletic departments at the University of Fort Lauderdale and Atlantis University. His impact at the prep level includes time at national powerhouse NSU University School, where he served as an assistant and player development coach. During his tenure there, the program was ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation and produced seven ESPN Top 100 players.

In his first year at the helm of The River, Coach Jackson continues to build a program based on accountability, academic excellence, and a championship mindset — with a clear vision for player development and long-term success.

"I want to thank Coach Morosco and Athletic Director Mr. Scott Kimmelman for this life-changing opportunity," said Jackson. "I'm incredibly grateful to lead this program and to help shape young men on and off the court."

A native of Moss Point, Mississippi, Coach Jackson currently resides in Fort Pierce, Florida, with his wife Tameka and their two sons, Latravis and Tyler.
