Pool Records Set as Indian River Defeats Nova Southeastern University

DAVIE, FL- On Friday, January 10, Indian River State College's men's swimming and diving teams defeated Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in dual meet action while setting two pool records. The River's 200 medley relay team of Gabriel Morales, Kito Campbell, Oliver Nell, and Riccardo Pandin broke the NSU Aquatic Center pool record with a winning time of 1:27.4. Later on, a second pool record was set by Anderson Brown in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:45.74 for his win.

Indian River won another 11 of the 14 events contested. These wins came from Knut Robinson (100 free), Elliot Weisel (200 and 500 free), Zack Gresham (100 back), Kito Campbell (100 and 200 breast), Oliver Nell (50 and 100 free), Gabriel Morales (200 back), and Anderson Brown, who earned a second win in the 200 IM. The men's team of Marcus Johnson, Riccardo Pandin, Felipe Costa, and Oliver Nell finished off the meet with a win in the 200 free relay.

Despite the many close races for the women's team, Indian River was unable to defeat the NCAA Division II defending National Champions but did come away with event wins from Aurora Zanin (1000 free), Wiktoria Maciuszek (100 back), Nika Tomic (200 back), and Adriana Roldan (100 fly).

  • Women: Indian River 89 - Nova Southeastern 173
  • Men: Indian River 177 - Nova Southeastern 84

Up next for the River will be a dual meet with Ave Maria University on Friday, January 24 at 10:30AM.
