MADEIRA BEACH, FL - Indian River had a dominant Saturday, picking up two convincing wins over Pensacola State College and Walters State.

In the opener, Indian River rolled past Pensacola State College, 11-1. The River got on the board early in the top of the first inning when Alvey tripled down the left-field line and Loreto grounded out, with each play driving in two runs. Pensacola State's lone run came in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by La Morte to left field.

Indian River put the game away in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits. Shields singled to score one run, two runs crossed the plate on an error, Gendron added an RBI single, and another error brought in the final run of the inning.

Wilkinson stepped into the circle first for Indian River, allowing four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings while striking out two and walking one. Kingsley took the loss for Pensacola State, giving up nine hits and nine runs (eight earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three. Gendron closed out the game for Indian River, pitching one and one-third scoreless innings while allowing one hit and striking out two.

Piar, Shields, and Alvey each collected two hits for Indian River, while Loreto and Alvey drove in two runs apiece. Piar and Gendron each stole multiple bases as Indian River racked up six stolen bases overall. The River also turned a double play and played error-free defense, with Alvey leading the team with five chances in the field.

In game two, Indian River continued its strong play with a 10-1 victory over Walters State, highlighted by a seven-run fourth inning. Alvey grounded out to score two runs, Gendron singled in one run, Loreto singled to drive in two more, Seabrook drew a bases-loaded walk to score a run, and an error accounted for another run.

The River opened the scoring in the top of the first inning on back-to-back singles, with Alvey driving in the first run. A Loreto single in the top of the third extended the lead to 3-0.

Eekhoff got the start in the circle for Indian River and delivered a strong performance, allowing three hits and one unearned run over five innings. She struck out eight and walked one.

Loreto and Terito led the offense with two hits each, with Loreto driving in a team-high two runs and finishing 2-for-2 on the day. Cochran and Johnson each stole multiple bases as Indian River remained aggressive on the base paths, totaling 10 stolen bases. The River also showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks in the win.
