Eekhoff Earns National and State Pitcher of the Week Honors
CHARLOTTE, NC- Indian River freshman Emma Eekhoff has been named both the FCSAA and NJCAA Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 12–18, 2026).
Eekhoff was officially named the NJCAA Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday after a dominant performance in the circle for The River. The freshman right-hander was nearly untouchable, finishing the week with a 3-0 record and a 0.00 ERA across five appearances.
In a complete-game victory against South Florida State, Eekhoff allowed just two hits and two unearned runs while striking out 14 and issuing no walks. She also earned wins over Southern Idaho and St. Johns River State, consistently shutting down opposing offenses with command, poise, and power.
Over 18 total innings pitched, Eekhoff surrendered only four hits and two unearned runs while walking five and striking out an impressive 33 batters. Her dominance in the circle helped propel The River to a strong week of competition and showcased her ability to control the game from start to finish.
Eekhoff was also recognized earlier in the week as the FCSAA Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, marking a clean sweep of weekly honors at both the state and national levels.
Her performances continue to set the tone for Indian River's pitching staff and highlight the impact she is already making in her freshman campaign.
