River Rolls Past Manatees in Conference Play
FORT PIERCE, FL - The River volleyball team kept their home momentum rolling Wednesday night with another sweep, this time over the State College of Florida Manatees. The River took control early and never let up, earning the win in straight sets, 25-12, 25-20, 25-23.
The opening set set the tone, as The River's serving pressure and fast-paced offense overwhelmed the Manatees to a decisive 25-12 finish. SCF responded with more energy in the second, but The River stayed composed, using timely kills and scrappy defense to pull away late, 25-20. The third set was a battle, with the teams trading points down the stretch, but The River's poise in the final rallies secured the sweep, 25-23, and sent the home crowd into celebration.
The River now turns their attention to another home test hosting St. Petersburg College on Friday, September 26 at 5:00 p.m. as conference play continues.
