The River Falls to St. Petersburg in Straight Sets
FORT PIERCE, FL - The River battled hard at home on Friday night but came up short against St. Petersburg College, dropping a competitive three-set match (23-25, 21-25, 23-25).
Each set was closely contested, with The River pushing the Titans to the final points in all three frames. In the opening set, The River held momentum early, but a late surge from St. Petersburg flipped the score in their favor, 25-23. The second set followed a similar pattern, as The River strung together strong defensive rallies but couldn't quite close the gap, falling 21-25.
Determined to extend the match, The River fought back in the third set, trading points and energy with the Titans throughout. Despite a resilient effort and several key swings down the stretch, The River was edged out once again, 23-25, sealing the match for St. Petersburg.
