Rhamy Named FCSAA DII Defensive Player of the Week
FORT PIERCE, FL — Sophomore libero Maya Rhamy has earned FCSAA Division II Defensive Player of the Week honors for her outstanding play during the week of September 30 – October 6, anchoring The River's defense in three competitive conference matchups.
Rhamy was a steady force on the back line, averaging 6.2 digs per set across 12 sets, while also contributing 1.2 assists and 0.2 service aces per set. Her defensive consistency and calm presence helped The River to a 2–1 record against FCSAA opponents during the week.
She was at her best in The River's five-set upset over nationally ranked #19 Lake-Sumter State College, collecting a season-high 32 digs to fuel the team's dramatic comeback. Earlier in the week, she tallied 13 digs against Florida State College at Jacksonville and 29 digs versus St. Johns River State.
Rhamy's reliability and leadership in the libero jersey continue to set the tone for The River's defense as the team pushes deeper into conference play.
