River Opens Conference Play with Home Win
FORT PIERCE, FL - The River hosted the St. Petersburg College Titans on January 7, 2026, for its first conference game and first contest of the new year. A strong crowd came out to support the team, and the River rewarded them with an impressive 81–61 victory.
The River took control early, heading into halftime with a double-digit lead. Coming out of the break, the home team played with even more energy and force, pushing the advantage to more than 25 points at one point in the second half.
Anthony Ferrer led the way with a big night, finishing with 26 points. He shot 45.5% from three-point range, knocking down 5-of-11 from deep, and was nearly perfect at the free-throw line, going 7-of-8 (87.5%). Ferrer also added three rebounds and three steals to cap off a strong all-around performance.
Isiah Cameron had an outstanding night off the bench, scoring 15 points while shooting 62.5% from the field. He was active on both ends of the floor, pulling down nine rebounds and recording two blocks. Tamiel Green and Adam Squire each chipped in eight points.
Defensively, Terryon Stebbins and Arlindo Bernardo were key in keeping the St. Pete guards in check. Stebbins also made his presence felt on the offensive end with nine points and nine rebounds, while Sharief Parks provided solid minutes off the bench, grabbing six rebounds.
It was a complete team effort and a great win for the River. As has been said since the beginning of the season, the River can play with anybody.
