FORT MYERS, FL - Indian River fell to a strong Florida SouthWestern (FSW) Bucs team in a hard-fought conference matchup. Despite competing with energy and effort throughout the contest, a few early mistakes proved costly for the River and allowed the Buccaneers to build an early advantage.
Coming out of halftime, Indian River responded well and cut the deficit to single digits. However, untimely mistakes down the stretch allowed Florida SouthWestern to regain momentum and extend the lead. As the young roster continues to grow and clean up those errors, the River will put themselves in a much better position to compete for wins.
Defensively, Indian River will look to improve moving forward. Allowing 101 points makes it difficult to secure a win at the JUCO level. The coaching staff will regroup and prepare the team for the second half of conference play.
Individually, Isiah Cameron led the River with 24 points and six rebounds. Anthony contributed 15 points off the bench, while Sharief Parks recorded a strong double-double effort with nine points and 11 rebounds.
