River Wins at Home

FORT PIERCE, FL - The River rolled past Keiser JV with a dominant 10–0 victory on Thursday.

The scoring began in the second inning when EJ Burns drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game's first run. Vinny Dinzeo extended the lead to 2–0 in the third with an RBI double.

The game broke open in the fifth as the River plated five runs on five hits. Anthony Espinoza and Niko Benested each delivered two-run singles, while David Pina added an RBI single to cap the inning. Shane Lavin earned the win on the mound, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just two hits. He struck out nine and walked one. Blake Anderson and Ethan LaPointe combined to finish the shutout in relief. Keiser JV starter Camacho allowed four runs (three earned) over four innings.

Offensively, the River piled up 18 hits. Niko Benested anchored the middle of the lineup, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. David Pina and Finn Duran also collected three hits apiece, while Anthony Espinoza, Vinny Dinzeo, and Kendry Blanco each recorded multiple hits. Duran swiped two bases as the River totaled three steals on the day.

Defensively, the River was flawless, committing no errors. Vinny Dinzeo led the team with 11 defensive chances.

Panjallo and Fernandez each tallied a hit for Keiser JV, who turned one double play in the loss.

Indian River will look to add another to the win column as they host ELV8 tomorrow at home with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
